Privacy policy
Effective October 26, 2026
Today, at today.jacksonblank.com, is a private task manager used only by its owner. It has one account, and nobody else can sign up.
What Today stores
- The tasks, projects, notes and settings you enter.
- For notifications: the delivery address your browser provides for each device where you turn them on.
- For the Siri shortcut: a fingerprint (hash) of each key, never the key itself.
- Sign-in sessions, with the browser name and IP address, to keep you signed in and to stop password guessing.
Google Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar, Today asks Google for permission to:
- see your list of calendars and the events on them, to show your events in My Day and the Calendar;
- create one calendar named “Today” and add, change or remove events in it, for the tasks you choose to add.
Today can’t change or delete events in your other calendars. The access tokens Google issues are stored encrypted on the server. Your events are fetched when you look at them and kept in memory for a few minutes at most; they aren’t saved in Today’s database.
Today’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is not sold, not shared with anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
You can disconnect at any time in Settings. That removes Today’s access at Google and deletes the stored tokens. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Where it’s kept
On a private server that only the owner administers, with encrypted nightly backups at Backblaze in the United States. Notifications pass through the push service of your browser’s maker (Apple, Google, Microsoft or Mozilla).
Keeping and deleting
Your data stays until you delete it. You can export everything (JSON or CSV) or delete tasks in the app at any time. Backups are kept for up to 12 months.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
